We are not a scripted piece of work.
We are not meant to follow the world's standard of being.
We are a forever growing seed, a story still being penned.
Imperfect, alive, and evolving.
We’re a work in progress
Some mornings are calm and we’re excited to start the day.
Eyes steady and minds open to heed what the universe has to say.
Other days are tough, and we fall apart,
With no guarantee of getting back up,
But we’re not expected to immediately rise after a tough fall.
We’re a work in progress.
We carry with us questions,
Like rocks in our pockets,
And hope like seeds in our hands,
because we can't find a perfect soil.
Heavily weigh, daring to change our perspectives.
We stumble, we fall,
We learn to begin again.
We’re a work in progress.
We are belly-laughs after a long moment of silence.
We're the moments we leave our comfort zones
We are the tears that teach us valuable lessons
We are mistakes that show us a better way.
We’re a work in progress.
There is beauty in becoming.
Not in being “completed,”
In choosing to get up,
Even when we feel unfinished.
We’re a work in progress.
So it's okay to give ourselves grace
And give it to others too.
To understand that tomorrow will be different
But for now every soul is still unfolding.
We’re a work in progress.
And that’s not a flaw.
It’s what keeps us going.
It’s what makes us human.
It’s how we know we are still growing.
