Why Project Change?
"Joining Project Change was driven by my desire to create a real impact in the lives of young Liberians, even though I'm far from home. Working within the Programs and Development Department allows me to equip others with the resources and confidence needed to unlock their full potential and actively participate in shaping their development. Contrary to common belief, I firmly believe in the capacity of Liberian youths to envision a brighter future for Liberia through collaboration, patriotism, and integrity. I am thrilled to be part of this movement with Project Change."

"Some of my hobbies include visiting art galleries, dancing to Afro-Beatz and Caribbean songs, and writing poetry."

Why Project Change?
Hi everyone! My name is Zahrah Siddiqui. I am currently a 2nd year Masters in Public Policy student at University of California Los Angeles with an interest in child welfare, education, and racial discrimination policy. I like to call myself a 3 time Bruin because I earned my undergraduate degrees in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations at UCLA and then went on to work at the UCLA School of Law after graduating!
Favorite hobbies?
I love spending time with my family and friends at the beach, a new restaurant, cafe or just exploring any new area. When alone I love cooking/baking, watching movies/tv, or drawing! Fun fact: for years my professional dream was to become a private chef. Can’t wait to work with ProjectChange this summer!
Nathan Quirion
Policy Research & Program Evaluation Intern
Mr. Quirion is a Masters of Public Policy candidate at the University of California, Los Angeles with a professional background in education. He is currently studying trauma-informed policy, and how an understanding of trauma — and the means to counteract it — can assist policy- and change-makers.
Why Project Change?
"I joined Project Change because I believe creating an active and engaged public from the ground up is a crucial component of systemic change, and I admire its mission of fostering youth community and civic engagement. I hope to refine Project Change’s strategy to empower a new generation of leadership more effectively and broadly, as well as to broaden my own perspective on the impacts of policy."
Samuel Garcia
Policy Research & Program Evaluation Intern
Samuel Garcia is a 2nd year Public Policy Graduate student at UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, with a background in government, international development, research, and community engagement. His academic interests focus on Regional Economic Development and Energy and Sustainability, where research and academic literature intersect with real-world policy to meet the needs of people and places. As a former Peace Corps Education Volunteer in Guyana and a Claims Specialist with the Social Security Administration, Samuel brings over 10 years in both direct field experience and analytical rigor to complex policy challenges. He is passionate about developing pragmatic, cost-effective solutions that strengthen institutions and improve public outcomes, etc.

Outside of his studies, Samuel enjoys running, traveling, hiking, and exploring new places.

I was a tool who needed a handler, had the mindset of making change, but no work was put in. I had the spirit of a Changemaker, but I needed a platform to manifest it. It wasn't until Project Change found me that I could genuinely make an impact. I'm here to help collectively build a sustainable Liberia.
