Program Overview:

The International Excellence Scholarship is available to students with an Overseas fee status who will be
studying at St Andrews in Scotland, United Kingdom for a full-time undergraduate degree. It is one of
the University flagship awards, established to recognize gifted students with academic excellence.
Recipients of the scholarship will be expected to serve as Student Ambassadors and represent the
University at a number of events, which may include engaging in outreach activities and assisting
Admissions staff.

Eligibility: ​​​​

● International Students
● Must be entering the first year of an undergraduate degree (this includes direct entry into year two).
● Selection is based on academic excellence and achievement. Applicants should demonstrate high
academic standing.
● The award is not available for Medicine or the BA International Honors joint degree with
William & Mary.

Benefits: 

● Award Value: The scholarship provides significant financial support and is paid annually for the
full duration of the student undergraduate programme.
● The award is paid for the entire duration of the undergraduate program (renewable each year,
provided academic and ambassadorial responsibilities are met).
● Specific Value: The exact value of the award is confirmed by the University (usually by
December of the application year). Some sources indicate that one award may cover the full tuition fees.

 

How to apply:

● Apply for admission to a full-time undergraduate program at St Andrews.
● Portal Access You will receive login details for the My application portal approximately two
working days after submitting your course application.
● Complete the International Undergraduate Scholarships application form found in the
Scholarships and Funding section of the portal.​​
