THE CHANGEMAKERS' CONFERENCE

ABOUT THE
CONFERENCE

The Changemakers' Conference is a three-day event for youth-led nonprofits and community-based organizations selected through a vigorous application process. The conference occurs biannually and hosts several youth-led nonprofits from various counties across Liberia. The 2026 conference is tentatively scheduled for three days, from July 15th to July 17th, and will host 15 youth-led organizations in Margibi County for the first time. Please note that the dates and venue are subject to change by the organizer.

Participants benefit from several training sessions, including Grant Writing, Building Inclusive Communities, Conflict Management, and Professionalism in the Workplace, facilitated by Project Change and notable local and international guest speakers. Additionally, participants partake in the National Vision Plan Competition (NVPC) during the conference.

The NVPC challenges participants to propose a project or program to a panel of judges and stand a chance to win microgrants. The judges then select two or three projects based on funding and the proposal guidelines, and grant microgrants to support them. The grants are intended to empower the organizations to implement their projects and positively impact the lives of their beneficiaries.

1. Must be a youth-led nonprofit or community-based org, and leaders must be ages 16-35.

2. Must be able to send three representatives for all days of the conference (one must be a top leader, i.e., CEO, Executive Director, etc.).

3. Must cover lodging, transportation, and other expenses, if applicable (meals are provided during the conference).

4. Everyone is encouraged to apply, but priority will be given to organizations that have not previously participated.

5. If an organization has participated before, they must bring at least one new member to represent the organization.
